摘要：Various methods and techniques, such as UML methods, IDEF methods, workflow techniques and so on, have been developed through theoretical research and practical projects in the implementation of BPR. However, many managers or engineers who want to dramatically improve their organizational performance by implementing BPR often get confused by these miscellaneous methods and techniques. They often express difficulties in choosing the very method which is most suitable to their specific situation. In order to facilitate the BPR practitioners get a systematic view on how to reengineer their business process more efficiently, this paper integrates and rearranges the major BPR methods and techniques, analyzes their strengths and weaknesses. This paper also compares these methods and techniques vertically and horizontally in order to figure out the suitable conditions under which they can be employed, as well as the specific areas they are mainly dedicated. It can be served as an aid for practitioners to select proper methods and techniques in the implementation of BPR.
